doctorには改竄という意味もある

doctorは名詞だと医者という意味ですが、
動詞だと改竄するという意味になります。

doctorはフランス語のdoctourに由来します。
doctourはラテン語のdocereに由来します。
docereとは教えるという意味でした。
doctorが治療するという意味になったのは1712年とのこと。
その後、1774年に改竄するという意味の使用例があるそうです。
